Meet our Principal

Dear Parents,

Choosing the right school for your child is always a difficult decision. As Principal of GEMS Modern Academy, my vision is to make my school the first choice for parents, a school where teachers make meaningful connections with children to make sure they are cared for and offered compassion as well as intellectual stimulation.

If each child at Modern wants to jump out of bed, eager to come to school every morning, we will have achieved our goal. When there is a safe and secure environment where children are challenged and their youthful energy channelled productively, parents trust the school and are comforted that they have made the right decision.

The purpose of education is to prepare students for life. When that bedrock encourages curiosity, high self-esteem, experiential learning and lasting friendships, learning happens almost by osmosis. The 21st century learner is not satisfied solely with what happens between the four walls of a classroom and, at Modern, our teachers ensure the challenge extends beyond school hours. Digital learning and flipped classes are the norm rather than the exception and children learn at their own pace. The inclusive environment teaches our students valuable lessons in compassion. Our wide range of facilities ensures our students are active and fulfil their physical potential as well as developing their cognitive and emotional selves.

At GEMS Modern Academy, we believe in ductus exemplo – leadership by example. When our students pass out of school, they will be strong individuals with a sense of pride in who they are. They will be rooted, with a high regard for their school and their country, and will go on to carve a niche for themselves and take their rightful place in the world.
